The Blacktop MAP Sensor:
The OEM MAP sensor (89420-42010) for the Blacktop has been out of production for almost 20 years now.
I’ve been digging into this for quite a while, and I can now confidently confirm at least one direct alternative that’s still available.
The 89420-06040 MAP sensor from a Camry Solara is an identical match to the values listed in the Blacktop workshop manual.
See the images below:
First image: from the Blacktop workshop manual.
Note: The manual measures voltage drop (starting from 3.6 V), which is why the values appear
reversed.
Second image: from the Camry manual.
Also includes other sensors that MAY also work
Green-highlighted fields represent known reference values from the service manual.
8942012190 and 89420-12040 also are supposed to work.
See PDF.
I did not test those two.
